December 1, 2008-Amaree's Due Date!

Amaree always sleeps with her arms up in the air. We swaddle them down, and yet, she wriggles her arms up until they are straight in the air. Sometimes they are really cold-but she still is most comfortable with them in the air.
Today was Amaree's original due date! Can you believe it? She is a full 40 weeks now! She is 13 weeks old, and is doing great. She has been eating a LOT today. Almost every hour, hour and a half. Very hungry girl-must be a growth spurt.

We did hand prints and foot prints to mark her due date. Unfortunately, we don't have an accurate method to weigh her, but she is definitely bigger!

We have also discovered a way to give her the medicine without too much fuss. When she has a bottle, we slowly drip the medicine down the side of the nipple into her mouth. We have to be really careful, because if we get too much, she starts to gag and spit, but if we give a few drops at a time she hardly notices. She will still make a face, but at least the drama is greatly reduced.

I can't help but think how differently life would be if she had come today. I know that having a baby will alter your life forever, but the way that she came into this world has definitely altered everything. How different life is now! How much we have learned! How much we have grown! How much we have gone through! How much she has accomplished in her short little life-more than some people accomplish in a long life.

Hey Jessica and family,
My Grandma always said that when a baby sleeps with their arms above their heads, it means they're in a deep, restfull and content sleep. Enjoy Amaree!!! Happy Birthday!!!! Some day Jessica and Andrew you can share with others what you have experienced, how you survived and the joy received from this trial. She's a doll, ENJOY!!!
