GOOD NEWS

September 5, 2008; 4:30 pm. We have some good news! The hole in her heart is not closed, but it is much smaller. It went from being "Large" to "Moderate to Small". Also the scan showed that her heart isn't strained from having it open. If it had been strained, we may still have had to do surgery, but right now we are just going to leave it. Because it is small it probably won't be as much of a concern. Our NP said we are going to up her fluids, check her for the next 12-24 hours and hopefully get her off the ventilator! She will also begin feedings. Which means she can actually use some of the breast milk that is accumulating! It won't be much, but if she can get some of the nourishment she should begin growing. She has stayed about the same since she was born, and so we are hoping that this will be a catalyst to more good news! Thanks for praying! We have evidence that it is working every time we turn around.
