September 7, 2008

We went to a sacrament service at the hospital and then we visited with Amaree while we waited for rounds. It is really nice to be there for rounds because the Doctor and the NP and the nurses come in and talk about the baby and then make decisions. The doctor is not happy with her murmur. He is concerned that the hole in her heart is getting bigger or that it is causing fluids to be left in her lungs (if I understood correctly). Anyway, he is concerned about the hole in her heart still. They are going to do another head ultrasound to check on the bleeding on the brain, (we aren't TOO concerned about it because the first one was good, but they still check it) and they are also going to do another echo on her heart. If it comes back that the hole has grown or that there is any stress on her heart then she will have to have surgery to close it. Amaree has been sleeping, mostly by herself since they put her back on the ventilator. She must be exhausted from the effort that it took to try and breathe on her own. They are going to start giving her some milk today.

Andrew and I are both exhausted as well, but we are going to try to go home and take care of a few things and then come back out. We may have to make a very short trip home because if they do the surgery, they do it within 24 hours of deciding to do it and we both need to be here for it.

We did get some really great pictures of her that we will publish tomorrow. Thanks again for praying for her and for us. It is really helping us.

Oh, and she has Andrew's legs.

It is good to hear she is still making progress. Our prayers are with you. Let us know if you need anything at all. By the way, besides the changing table and high chair we also have a baby bathtub and I do have a few girl preemie clothes for you. Also my sister in law was wondering if you need a carseat. She was just given 2 that are pretty new and just needs one so if you need one you are more than welcome to it. I also have a precious moments crib set if you would like that. Just let us know. We know it will be a while before you will need this stuff but if we know you want it we will save them for you. Love The Tippets

Andrew, I just returned from yellowstone to hear the great, somewhat sad news. Congratulations on the arrival of what seems to be a very wonderful baby, who decided the world needed to meet her sooner than planned. Sorry to hear that she has your legs, but if the rest of her is like her mom, she will be just fine. They are such fighters, so chin up. Can't wait to see her. You are in everyones prayers. Touch and kiss her often.
