Sorry it has taken so long to get an update. We spent the morning at Social Security trying to get help for Amaree. We saw her last night and she looks so good! She has gained 5 ounces since she was born! And it isn't water weight either. They were feeding her 7ml last night, but this afternoon they started her on 9 ml. That is almost one whole syringe! She had ANOTHER echo and we are still going to see about surgery.
We have learned that she does NOT like to be dirty. She was very upset when she had a dirty diaper and it needed changed. The nurse was trying to figure out why she was so agitated when she realized that she had a blow-out. Once she got that changed, Amaree was calm and happy again. She spit up a little when they fed her and she was very distressed about that as well. Once she was cleaned up, she was fine again. Note: do not let her get dirty.
As we were updating this, Galina came and talked to us. They are going to have to do the surgery. We don't know when it will be, either tomorrow night or Sunday. Her heart is starting to become strained, so we really HAVE to get it done now. We are both scared, but they reassure us that it is a common surgery that she will start to make improvements on the ventiltor once it is done. She is gaining weight and doing well, but her lungs have been struggling and she hasn't moved on the ventilator in three days. Her lungs can't improve while her heart is strained, and so it has become necessary. We are praying that all goes well.

We'll all be praying the surgery goes well too. I'm so excited her weight has come up.
